P!nk

P!nk is a modern day transcendentalis. She doesn’t care what people think or say about the way that she dresses, says, or even acts. In this video she speaks about how girls want to fit into society. that thy even that they don’t do what they like. How they repress who they really are to become someone that they aren’t.

Progress is Destructive
Gasoline (fossil fuel) is harmful to animals. It takes away from their environment, gets on their fur/wings, and it gets into their food supply. With humans constantly digging for more oil they are destroying land habitats for animals. Humans feel inferior to animals and anything that is not human. If the oil spills into the water then it makes it all the more dangerous for animals. The oil could get into their fur/feathers. Making it hard for them to swim and they could die from that as well. Some animals eat oil unknowingly through their diet. The animal that they might have eaten could have had ate something with oil on it and then when a bigger predator comes and eats that then they are eating it too and they may die from it or become very sick.
Humans build factories cars and trucks that run on gasoline (fissile fuel) and it affects us all. The fuel that is being used is toxic to us.  With as much pollution that is being putting in the air it make it harder for people to breathe. It also causes lung cancer from the pollutants that are being put into the air. This can be dangerous for people who have a history with bad breathing and for people with asthma. For the pollutants are so dangerous that they can kill some asthmatics’. Fissile fuel targets us all.
This fuel is so strong that in not only affects animals or humans, it affects the world too. Once a factory, car, or truck is used they for something fissile fuel are being used. This fuel is so dangerous that it even affects our ozone layer.  Creating a hole and making it bigger and bigger because fissile fuel is constantly being used.  The hole becomes more dangerous letting in ultra violet rays in which cause some people to have skin cancer.  So just as we are taking away from the animals we are taking away from our self’s.

Students declaations

Everyday, decisions are being made for schools without the students’ representation. While a bunch of adults make decisions on our school, we, the students, are suppose to stand on the sidelines and concede to whatever decision the adults make. We want to represent ourselves and we are willing to fight for what we think is right. We needed representation on the school board and on the city council. The adults needed to hear the opinions we have as students, instead of basing it off their own judgment. It’s too late now though and we want to form our own source of representation. We, the students of the Grosse Pointe Public School System, believe we deserve the power to make the decisions made about our school.
While the adults may say we have representation by having student councils or student associations, we only receive partial representation. It’s one thing to be able to pick out decorations for a party, but another matter entirely to decide on matters that really affect our school. We, the students, want that ability to decide on the issues that truly could affect us, the school or even our education. We want our own school board that will be the one and only group of students that will make the decisions on our school. We can no longer have a bunch of adults, who are not in or graduates of our school, being the deciders on these matters. We, as a student body, needed to be the final deciders on everything. The students are the ones that know what happen inside and outside of the school. We are the ones that get the blunt of the blow whenever the deciders on the city council or school board make decisions about our school. They don’t really know what happens in the everyday lives of the students, so they shouldn’t be the deciders of our future. Issues that affect all schools, such as snow days, need the students to be the deciders. We don’t want the adults saying what happens because they are not the one’s walking to school in the freezing cold or even driving to it on the icy roads. Then when it comes to each individual school, we need to be the deciders on issues, such as the classes we have and class sizes, because these issues could affect our education as students. The adults aren’t there in our classrooms with us or know what classes we need. They don’t need to be deciding these matters for us. So we, the students, believe it is a basic right for the students to be the only representatives on these issues.
We, the students of the Grosse Pointe Public School System, deserve this basic right as students of the schools. We are willing to do whatever it takes for us to get what we think is right. We want our own representation and we will no longer wait to act upon this. The adults will no longer be the superiors, for we are stepping up and fighting back. We are our own deciders. We are our own source of representation. We are the Grosse Pointe Public School System.
<!--[if !supportLists]-->I. <!--[endif]-->The district has given us an early start in school, and an early start to the school day as well. Save Monday, the school day starts earlier than is acceptable to students. 8:00 a.m. provides little time to be sufficiently prepared for yet another school day in the morning. After rising out of bed, deprived of sleep by large amounts of homework from all seven classes, students have to make their groggy way to school and wake themselves up by first hour. Students need to have more time in the morning to be adequately prepared for the school day.
<!--[if !supportLists]-->II. <!--[endif]-->The district has provided us with dances as an opportunity to unwind. However, we students are locked into these dances as if they were jail sentences. Some students can only stay at the dance until ten, but are locked down until 10:30. Whether it's a large event the following day or just overly protective parents, most students have a reason. Should students need to leave a dance early, they should be allowed to.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->III. <!--[endif]-->Late homework in inevitable. It simply cannot be avoided: students will turn things in late. Steep penalties for late homework are being issued by teachers who seem to have little to no respect for students. After all, the concept of filial piety says that we should respect our elders, and our elders should respect us too. If students cannot complete their homework, they should not be penalized. Students should be given two days free of penalty to complete homework and turn it in late.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->IV. <!--[endif]-->Buses are a service that most other schools in the Detroit area have, and that we lack. Taking a look at a simple comparison, the amount of snow days between Grosse Pointe South and another school in another district show a landslide in favor of any other school in any other district. A simple way to make students happier is to increase the amount of time off, in the increments of a short but great snow day, sprinkled over the school year. The way to increase the amount of snow days is to add buses to the district. Thus, the way to the student’s hearts' is through a system of buses.
<!--[if !supportLists]-->V. <!--[endif]-->The lunchtime should be longer. It’s too short, barely have enough time to eat, socialize, being back in time for class without rushing in at the last moment. The lines in the school lunchroom are too long. They don’t have enough people working the lunch counter. It takes them four to five minutes to serve one person when there is at least twenty or thirty people waiting for food and by the time that the last person is served they only have about four or five minutes to eat. If they are in that long line waiting for food then they won’t have time to socialize with their friends and talking to teachers about extra help and catching up on the thing that they missed. Some kids like to go out for lunch, but they know that if they do then they will have to rush back to the school; they will have to get a carry out and eat the food on their way back to the school.
<!--[if !supportLists]-->VI. <!--[endif]-->Extra credit should be allowed in every class at all times. Students need extra to improve their grades. If a student isn’t a strong test taker they will need to have extra credit to boost up their grade. If an assignment is missed or failed by a student they can use extra credit to make up some points. Extra credit is a lifesaver to some students. Students also use it as a pull up. There could be a limit to how mush extra credit a student is given. So they don’t depend on extra credit too much really needs it then the teacher should provide. Extra credit is not a fall back for students, but only something to give you a little push.
<!--[if !supportLists]-->VII. <!--[endif]-->The class school schedule should be changed. There should be three classes in the morning and three in the afternoon. With this schedule the students will be less reluctant to go to school. With all of the information that is given to a student in one of our regular school day they will forget half of it before they leave to go home. If the day is changed to our way then the students will have enough time to process all of the information that they are given. More students’ homework will be done. The more time the students will have time to do it and study for tests and quizzes.
<!--[if !supportLists]-->VIII. <!--[endif]-->The rule of having no cellular devices in class has always been and issue. Students are constantly getting their phones apprehended by administrators for the simplest things as checking the time. It is one thing to get the phone taken away for texting a peer during a test or quiz to cheat but it is definitely another to be texting a parent asking for schedule changes or if they dropped something off in the office. Students do not want to use the school provided phones located in classrooms unless it is an emergency. It is much simpler and less disruptive to send a quick message to a parent or guardian instead of disrupting an entire class to make a phone call.
<!--[if !supportLists]-->IX. <!--[endif]--> Facebook is a social Internet site that is used by almost every student today. The fact that it is blocked in school is inconvenient to all students. The website keeps students connected with one another. Students can frequently check in with each other between classes to catch up on a homework assignment or compare study guides to do better on quizzes or tests. Facebook is not a bad thing like the administration seems to think. It will actually improve on student’s capability to communicate with each other and make our school a joined community.
<!--[if !supportLists]-->X. <!--[endif]--> The bathrooms in Grosse Pointe South high school are horrendous. There is graffiti in almost every stall. There is always a shortage of toilet paper and soap. The actual toilets are disgusting and unsanitary. It is not healthy for students to be associating with such filth. Regular cleaning and sanitary enforcements should be looked into. Not only will this give our school a better image but it will keep students from getting sick.
We as the outnumbering student body have agreed on ever matter included within the document, signifying our strength in number and ambition to receive basic and deserved rights. If we are not to receive such fundamental rights then actions against such unjust authority must and will be initiated within the next 30 days. We can no longer live under the wrongful dictatorship of Mr. Provenzano and the administration. Such tyranny has forced a separation between hierocracy and the people. We will no longer be subject to such oppression. We declare ourselves free of unwarranted and arbitrary rules and restrictions made and enforced by the school district. We now represent a new and free nation- of students. We will be taking our education elsewhere leaving the unjust Grosse Pointe South school district. Under this new administration we will be able to arrive at school at a decent hour of the morning, which will be around 9:00 A.M opposed the ruthless 8:00. We the students will receive an equal and fair representation involving school decisions unlike the strict and oppressing system of the old administration, which ultimately lead to such separation.

My Story

On her way leaving for Boston she decided that she didn't want to go. She didn't want to leave the only

place that she knew,  so she sent Mercy alone. Abigail went off trail to find some where else to go. She

settled for an empty patch of land that was about 5achers of land. The quietness of the little area she love the

most, but she also loved how the wild flowers looked when they bloomed. Abby ended up building a little

house for her and a little room for storage, she tried to convincing herself. She didn't look like she grew, but

she knew eventually that she would. She went out every morning and plowed the little farm land that was

enough to feed ten people.

She grew out her hair so no one would recognize her. She bought a painting of John Proctor on the bottom

was inscribed "In loving Memory of John Proctor." The picture was kept on the kitchen table. She talked to

to it every day as if it would one day magically respond to one of her questions. "Why didn't you come with

me we could of had a happy life a happy family together," she looked down at her stomach and her hand flew

to it, "Why her John what could she do or give to you that I couldn't? I loved you John! Every thing I did was

for us." She screamed and tears fell from her eyes to her cheeks. But the picture never answered, It only

stared silently.

Out working in the field on one of the hottest days of the summer Abigail decided to take a break she sat

down under the shelter of a huge tree pear tree. She sat quietly under the tree watching the clouds go by. She

though John's last words to her how when ever when ever she thought about it it felt like a lump of dirt rose

up in her throat. She thought about her life and what she was proud of and ashamed of, but as she did she felt

as though someone was watching her. Then she heard the foot steps of someone walking through the trees.

She stood up slowly and grabbed a shovel to defend herself with.

Abigail: Come out of there now whoever you are. Her voice was even and strong even though she felt

weak and frail.

The trees bustled and slowly Elizabeth parted from the forest.

Elizabeth: She stood causally at the edge of the forest, but once she seen Abigail she started to walk

closer. Abigail what are you doing here?

Abigail:  She was angry and confused. I could ask you the same thing. She sneered

Elizabeth:  An annoyed sigh escaped her lips. I was walking to the market and I decided I wanted to take

a short cut through the forest.

Abigail: Get off my land your not welcomed here.

Elizabeth: Why is that Abby-- .

Abigail:  Because you killed him, Elizabeth. You killed John. She screamed. You took him away from me.

Elizabeth: What are you saying Abigail. You killed him he didn't love you. He had a family and you messed

it up.

Abigail: No,no,no NO. You could of stopped him and you didn't. Why didn't you stop him? Tears started

to fill her eyes, but she dared not to let Elizabeth see them. She whipped them away as quickly a they

came. Why, Elizabeth? Why didn't you?

Elizabeth: What was I to do Abby? He didn't want to admit to being a witch. He didn't want to admit to

what you caused. Her voice broke as she screamed at Abigail.

Abigail: I caused that for him. So you could die and we could start our family. I caused it because I'm

pregnant with his child. She screamed back at Elizabeth and this time she didn't care that tears fell. His

child and I wanted him to be with me, not you.

Elizabeth: Oh dear God. Her hand flew to her mouth in shock. Your pregnant with John's baby? Horror

filed her voice and disbelief.

Abigail: Yes I am. Her voice was strong and her head was held high as she said it. then she quietly

turned away and headed for her house without another word.

Elizabeth: Abigail...

Abigail:She didn't even bother to turn around and face Elizabeth while she talked to her. She only said,Go home Elizabeth. Speak of our meeting to no one and if I dare hear my name spoken of then usually you will be a child short every time my name is spoken. She started back for the house again and once she was in she gave Elizabeth a sinister smile that showed that she meant each word that she said.
Elizabeth: Sigh.Okay Abigail this meeting never happened, she said to the house and turned away heading for home forgetting why she came through the forest.

After having her baby Abigail became very ill. She knew that she had no right to ask Elizabeth to take care of her son, but she was the only one that she trusted. She left little John on the stairs with a letter.

Dear Elizabeth,
I know that I have no right to ask you, but will you please take care of  little John. I am to ill to look after him and love him the way that I know that you can I only have a few days the doctor told me. So, I picked you please don't take out any anger toward him that is meant to hurt me, remember he is John's soon too. What would he say to you if you did?
                                                           Sincerely,
                                                                     Abigail

Elizabeth read the letter slowly making sure that she didn't miss anything. She couldn't refuse Abagail's dying wish after all he was a part of John. She took little John in without a word and kept him as if she had gave birth to him herself.

Crucible essay

The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, took place in a town called Salem, Massachusetts. Where rumors are started intentionally to get power and by mistake. Abigail Williams, Mary Warren, and John Proctor are all held responsible for the trials that took so many innocent lives. Abby intentionally caused these trials to happen for power and love. Mary was the key who could of stopped it all, but didn’t have a brain of her own. John could have prevented those innocent peoples lives from being taken, if he’d only said something sooner. All of them had some sort of part in the story that cause the lives of others to be taken.

Abigail is the niece of the towns priest. Basically this entire thing was caused because she couldn’t get what she wanted, which was John Proctor. She drinks chicken blood to kill John’s wife. She has other towns girls helping her pretend as there are witches in the town. If they see Abby pretending that she sees a witch or someones spirit they quickly join in. Abby is a very clever girl that turned the town of Salem inside out. "... I will come to you in the black of some terrible night and I... will shudder you"(20). She stabs herself with a needle and leaves it in her side of half of a day then she tells the judges that Elizabeth sent her spirit to attack her. Abby will do just about anything to be with John. She practically throws herself at him when ever he is around. Like when she tells him that they were just messing around when she and the other girls were in the woods.

Mary is faulted because she can’t think for herself, she needs to be told what to do. She tries to use some of the power that she gained on John, but she isn't a leader like John and she quickly crumbles under his power. John's a leader and Mary is nothing but a follower. That’s why Abby and Proctor both use and control her. If she would have had a brain for herself then she might have had been able to stop it from happening. All she had to say was that her and the other girls were following behind Abby. That they were pretending to see certain people with the devil, people sending their spirits out attacking them, and people signing their names in the devils book in their blood. She wanted to keep some of the power that she had instead of giving it up for people's lives.

John Proctor is held accountable because when he should have been taking care of his wife he was have an affair with Abby. "Abby I may think of you softly from time to time"(23)So when he was busy trying to get back on  his wife's good side that he didn't noticed that the town was being corrupted by teenagers. .He found out late, but when he found out he really didn’t want to get involved. He had no proof  that Abby was guilty, he only had his word. Which wouldn't have got him anywhere because too  many people where looking up to the girls by then. Once his wife name was mentioned he was automatically pulled into this horrific situation and tried to do everything that was needed to stop his wife from being killed.  He eventually gets Mary to confess that her and the others were acting.  Then Abby accuses her she quickly moves the blame from her to John. Then she causes him to die too. He did admit to being a witch but then he change his story once again. He decided to die silent death.
The Salem Witch Trials was a dreadful point in time. So many innocent life's where taken. Family, friends, and neighbors all gone because someone accused them of being a witch.Three people could of stopped that from happening. Abigail Williams, Mary Warren, and John Proctor are those three people. Abby craving power and attention for and from everyone. Mary for being a follower and wanting a little bit of power. John, not speaking up and staying silent until the last moment.

Cruible

Power is very important in this town. Who has the power is mainly determined by classes. Parris starts off with the power in the story because he is the head of the church. He's power hungry yet weak. He cares more about his image in the town then his own daughter. Who is ill. He refuses to believe that it was witchcraft or the Devil who has caused her to become so ill. He finds it embarrassing that he of all people has to deal with is daughter becoming ill of such things. Then the power seems to rest in the hands of Abigail and her followers. Once the girls come into power they start naming women in the town that they don't like as witches .

"Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" follow up post

I believe that the sermon "Sinners in the hands of an Angry God" would frighten people today as it did in the 1700's. Ever since I've grown up people have been telling me that God is a loving God and a forgiving God. The way that Edward portrays him is non forgiving and non loving. I was honestly scared when I had read this and automatically thought that I was going to Hell. I mean seriously, "The bow of God's wrath is bent, and the arrow made ready on the string" (p.98). That scared the living crap out of me. I literally stopped reading and turned around to see if an arrow was really there, that's how believable it was. I'm just saying that I'm a pretty hard persson to scare but this sermon did scare me.

"Siners in the Hands of an Angry God" Post

2 paragraphs  the first paragrah is a summary 6 sentences the second parahraph is what you expect to hear that scared so many people at the time

The sermon“Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”by Edwards was given on July 8,1741.The video states that the sermon was detailed, graphing and brutal. Even people today who are use to reading such violence are terrified by what Edwards wrote. He wanted people to not take for granted the sweetness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Edward pulled the colonies away for the ceremonial detached rituals and discourse that marked European Christianity.  People that didn't really know him said that he was a stern loveless man but the people who where close to him said that he was "thoughtful, warm, sensitive, loving father, faithful husband, generous friend to the poor and distressed."

Edwards is trying to preach to the people how to reach salvation. The sermon must of been very vibe. It had such an impact in so many people. The sermon left a permanent on American life. Also his sermon was know because New England never forgave him for.It made people start thinking about their actions and what consequences might lie ahead. He prayed for his peoples salvation. He hoped that they would start to awaken in the reality of sin.

Imagine two small golden retrievers. Looking as is they just woke up from a nap.  Each has big brown puppy eyes asking to be played with. Both of the puppies have little black wet noses. The one to the left looks like he's ready to get up and walk around meanwhile the one to the right is lying there like just give me a few more minutes. The one to the left has a reddish brown fur color but a little brighter fur along the cheeks. The one to the right has a sandy white color fur with reddish brown ears and along the top of his eyes. They are both laying on a furry blanket that makes them look all the more cuter.

Expectations

The are many expectations in an honors American Lit class some of which people know or that people are new to hearing.

Be on time everyday. Running into class as the bell rings is not on time. When a person is late it's distracting to the other students. The person who was late might have missed something important for a feature assignment or project. That then could cause them to fail the next assignment or project. When coming in late be per-paired at least. Don't cause even more distractions. Coming to class is on thing but being respectful is another thing.

When a person is asking a question don't be rude by saying oh that's a stupid question. Someone else might of not known the answer that wanted to know the answer as well. While the teacher is talking don't be obnoxious and start talking  and making jokes. Respect not only the people respect the class room. Trash doesn't belong on the floor so don't leave it there. Gum doesn't belong on the bottom of chairs and desks. Get up and spit it out in the trash. It doesn't take all that much to get up and toss it in the trash. Respect is straight forward and so is hard work.

The work and effort that is put in the class says a lot about a person. A hard worker will work their butts off. When a person is determined to get an A.  A Person will  work on something  over and over again until they think it's right. A non hard worker will just slop somethimg together to make it look like something knowing it's not.  That person will settle for a C because it's passing. A person should  try to do there best because lazy people will get nowhere. Don't turn in a assignment that was just thrown together 15 minutes ago.

About Me

Hey. For all of those who don't know me my name is Autumnbre Moore. I just turned 15 years old this July. I'm currently in 10th grade taking honors American lit with my friends. This is my second year having Mr.Provenzano as my 1st hour English teacher. I move up to honors American Lit for a bigger challange. English is my favorite subject out of everything else. It's easy to understant and it's bassically reading and writing. Two things that I like to do.
I'm very close to family. I have two brothes one older and one is younger. Charles aka (Chuck) is 27years old and Jeremiah aka (Jerry) is 14. Now goes to South as a Freshman.  My mom's in her forties I can't tell anyone or she'll kill me. My dad Charles is in his fifthies. He's ten years older then my mom. Creepy right well at least I thing so. He works downtown at the GM cusino.
My favorite type of music is hip hop and R&B. My top two favorite femal artist are Nicki Manja and Beyonce. Top two male atrist are Christ Brown and Eminem. Favorite song for now is Lighters by Eminem ft Bruno Mars. I hate the song Friday by Rebecca Black. Everytime I hear that some it makes me want to pull my ears off. That's harsh I know but it's so stupid. All she does is name the days of the week repeatedly.
I play different sports in and out of school. Out of school I play a little bit of basketball, tennis and swimming. In school I play softball and I was a cheerleader but I just wasn't able to partisipate this year. Hopefully I'll be able to join the team for basketball season also competative cheer season. I loved all of my coaches that I've encountered at South except for Brytni. My old cheerleading coach for j.v . Thank God she quit or was fired eighter way I don't care she was evil. I hated her and she hated me too so we're even.
